From Volunteer Centre to Thriving Church: God’s Work in Ukraine

What started as a volunteer centre during the war is now a growing church! From seniors to youth, people in Nemishayevo are engaging with God’s Word like never before. Read how He is moving in their community.
Over the last year, the team in Nemishayevo has welcomed countless answered prayers and turning points in ministry. They began as a volunteer center during the war and are now a church.
With the addition of new families, the team was able to expand their outreach into the community with both regular activities and special events.
Their Sunday church services are well attended by senior citizens. While many are still hesitant to commit their lives and get baptised, the interest in the Word of God is growing. They even added a Bible study club during the week.
“I read the Bible everyday, and pray for myself and my children. Thank you for being here with us,” said Yevheniia Borysivna, 70.
Interest in church and the Gospel is also increasing among the community’s young people.
“I got to know the volunteer centre at Christmas 2022, and now I attend the youth meetings and services every Sunday,” said Artem, 15. “I have made friends here and learned more about God.”
Youth and children's meetings are held every week, but the retreats and camps are highlights of the year. One such summer camp had 87 children present!
For women, they host an art group twice a month. These meetings are an oasis of rest, creativity and friendship building, with plenty of opportunities to share the good news.
The ways in which the team is serving their community could go on much longer. Praise God for the strength and creativity of this one church!
