One Month in Greece
"I've been on many mission trips since 2005, including seven trips to Romania as a volunteer to help with maintenance, and serve at summer camps." Meet Elena, a short-termer from New Zealand, and discover more about STM.
Interviewing Elena
When did you become a Christian?
The seed was well planted by my Sunday school teacher, when I was living in an orphanage in Romania. However in 2005, a family in Matamata introduced me to the Lord, and it was then that I began a heart relationship with Jesus. I have encountered many people over the years who have played big roles in my life, and have impacted my faith journey.
You are planning to serve for a month in Athens, in June/July. Tell us what you will be doing there...
I'm going to be serving with Hellenic Ministries, in a Roma community. I plan to basically be their 'Hands and Feet' and to serve in any way that I can.
This is not the first time you have been on a mission trip. What other trips have you been on, and what did you do?
I've been on many mission trips since 2005, including seven trips to Romania as a volunteer to help with maintenance, and serve at summer camps. I have also been on short-term trips to Thailand, Australia and Fiji where I supported orphaned children, helped with maintenance, did children’s ministry and shared my testimony.
